Kaua‘i Ko‘a Kea Hotel & Resort Reopens May 06

The former Poipu Beach Hotel has reopened as the Ko‘a Kea. Utilizing the original footprint, the former Poipu Beach Hotel gives visitors unmatched proximity to the ocean. Most rooms have ocean views. It’s a small, upscale resort with only 120 guest rooms, providing both elegance and privacy. The hotel just completed a multi-million dollar reconstruction to repair hurricane damage. The upgrades include the new Spa at Ko’a Kea and a new restaurant called Red Salt.

According to a report from the Kaua’i Visitors Bureau:

“On April 14, the Ko‘a Kea Hotel & Resort held its long-awaited opening, bringing back to life a property that had been closed since Hurricane Iniki.

“Rebuilt on the site of the former Po‘ipu Beach Hotel, the 121-room boutique hotel offers a dazzling design concept to go with spectacular ocean views.

“Guests are certain to enjoy the beachfront setting and special amenities. A highlight is the new restaurant, Red Salt, which offers an innovative menu by Executive Chef Ronnie Sanches, previously of the renowned El Bulli restaurant in Spain.

“Ko‘a Kea also features a spa treatment that rejuvenates the body and spirit using island ingredients that include Awapuhi root, red Kaua‘i clay, guava, coconut, and pineapple.

“Congratulations Ko‘a Kea!”
