Recognized as one of Hawaii’s premier multi-hull designer boat builders, Kevin Millet used his skills to design and build custom performance catamarans operated by Holo Holo Charters and together with his wife Marcie and an exceptional staff, passengers are treated to a first-class vacation experience.

Hawaii’s National Parks Nov 13

Visiting Hawaii’s National Parks gives visitors the opportunity to blend history and culture into their itinerary. These national parks, monuments and historical sites allow visitors to explore, learn and get inspired.

On Hawai’i Island, visitors can walk in the footsteps of King Kamehameha the Great at Puukuhola Heiau, the largest restored heiau (temple)in Hawaii, visit Pu’uhonua O Honaunau and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Pu’uhonua O Honaunau

Visitors, especially history buffs visiting O’ahu will enjoy a visit to Pearl Harbor, the only naval base in the United States designated a National Historical Landmark. Pearl Harbor honors its history with four museums: the USS Arizona Memorial, the Battleship Missouri Memorial, the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park and the Pacific Aviation Museum.

Visitors to Maui rise very early in the morning to witness a magnificent sunrise on Haleakala the island’s highest peak. Haleakala National Park is comprised of more than 30,000 acres of public land and covers a range of natural environments and is home to many endangered species. This is also the home of the famous sunrise downhill bike ride experience.

Kalaupapa National Historical Park is located on the island of Molokai and is accessible only by the mule ride, hiking tour or air from Kalaupapa’s small commuter airport. The park was once a place of refuge for Hansen’s Disease patients and remains one of the most remote settlements in Hawaii.

Five fun outdoor activities on Kaua’i Oct 24

With only ten percent of Kaua’i’s landscape accessible by road, to make the most of your visit to Kaua’i you have to get out of your car and go exploring. So many options are available to you from hiking, biking, horseback riding, mountain tubing, ATV adventures probably more options that you will have time for during your stay on the island.

Five of my favorites are :

Riding at Princeville Ranch

Riding at Princeville Ranch

Horseback Riding – ride along bluffs, across foothills, across sugar cane fields past secluded beaches and across working ranches. A variety of companies offer guided tours ranging from 90 minutes to five hours – some will include hiking and a swim in a natural pool below a waterfall. Some offer private tours as well. One of my personal favorites is with Princeville Ranch.

Zipline

Zipline

Zipline- soar like a bird while safely harnessed over some of Kauai’s lush green landscape. Kaua’i is so tropical with so much natural beauty even zip over a hidden waterfall.

Stand up paddle boarding

Stand up paddle boarding

River Kayaking and Standup Paddle Boarding  -whether  a nice easy paddle along the Wailua River to the famed Fern Grotto, the Huel’ia River to the Menehune Fishpond  or on the Hanalei River. For those that want something with a little more action ocean kayaking is available the summer months, hire a guide for the best experience.

Hiking in the Waimea Canyon

Hiking in the Waimea Canyon

Hiking  – A hiker’s paradise there are so many options depending upon skill level – one popular spot is the Waimea Canyon. Koke’e State Park offers more than 40 miles of footpaths leading to scenic lookouts. The Kalalau Trail along the Napali Coast is the island’s most famous and most challenging at 11 miles. Other popular hikes include Kuilau, Moalepe and Powerline Trailhead. Plan ahead – maps are available through the Department of Land and Natural Resources and the Division of State Parks for more hiking information. For your safety never hike alone and be sure and tell someone where you are going.

Mountain Tubing

Mountain Tubing

Mountain Tubing – It is okay to act like a kid when you do this fun activity-grab an inner tube and enjoy your trip down the river. Sturdy tubes let you float down through Kauai’s interior past breathtaking natural beauty. Guided tours, basic instructions and safety equipment provided. My personal favorite is Kauai Backcountry Adventures (photo courtesy of KBA) in addition to mountain tubing they also have some great zipline tours.

Polynesian Cultural Center Jun 05

For more than 50 years, The Polynesian Cultural Center located on the north shore of O’ahu has been giving visitors an experience unlike any other found in Hawaii. Visitors are immersed in the lifestyles, habitats, entertainment and other cultural aspects of seven Pacific cultures. No wonder that Polynesian Cultural Center has been named “Hawaii’s” favorite visitor attraction by People’s Choice Awards.

Hawaii Ulu Maika

Hawaii Ulu Maika

Seeing everything in one day is a really difficult task so my suggestion would be to check out the website and carefully organize the time you will spend so that you get to see the villages that interest you most, learn the schedule of the events held in those villages and between those scheduled events visit some of the other villages. No matter where you are at 2:30pm you will want to make your way to the center’s lagoon to watch the Canoe Pageant – Hawaii’s only water-borne show

See  “The Wonders of Hawaii” and get immersed in a big-screen tribute to the hidden splendors of Hawaii (free with admission to the center). Enjoy Village Canoe Tours, Fun Cultural Demonstrations in each village, natives demonstrate crafts and skills like creating clothing from bark, dance, making baskets from leaves, making fire by rubbing sticks (yes it can be done). Visitors learn about descriptions of cooking methods, transoceanic travel, and how the preservation of traditions and history without a written language was accomplished.

Outrigger Canoe Paddling

Outrigger Canoe Paddling

Visit the villages celebrating the Islands of Tonga,Fiji, Tahiti, Samoa, Aotearoa(New Zealand), Marquesas and the Hawaiian Islands.

Complete your day at Polynesian Cultural Center by enjoying the Ali’i Luau followed by  Ha – Breath of Life – a story of passion ignited by fire, song and dance.

Don’t forget to go by one of the souvenir or native handicraft shops.

The benefits of using a Travel Agent to book your trip to Hawaii May 22

Many clients are used to booking their own flights on line, researching hotels and destinations, but when it comes to booking a difficult multi-island itinerary to Hawaii, the benefits of using a professional travel agent to assist you in putting together the many components of these itineraries are many. Hawaii master destination specialist such as myself, have spent years visiting the islands many times, at least once a year to keep up with the current status of resorts, new restaurants and activities that have become available so they can share this information with their clients. One main benefit of our many trips to the islands is the personal relationships we maintain with the sales teams on property at the preferred resorts throughout the islands which is the next best thing to us personally being on island to take care of our clients. A trip to Hawaii is on most everyone’s bucket list, regardless of the reason they are planning a trip to the islands, and personally I try my very best to make sure that the itineraries are as close to the perfect for each client as possible.

**  First thing to consider is how do you decide which island(s) you wish to visit?  What airline works the best from  your home city? Will you need transfers or rental car ?

** What resort experience are you looking for ? Luxury resort with first class amenities? small boutique resort? Directly on the Beach? Nearby restaurants and activities? Are amazing swimming pools important to you?

Contemporary island décor

** What activities are you looking to do? Is there a special activity such as Pearl Harbor or Volcano National Park that you want to include in your itinerary? Do you want to zipline, snorkel, get surf lessons, see waterfalls? A Hawaii specialist agent will be able help you work through your wish list and help you figure out which ones you will be able to fit into your schedule.

** Hawaii destination specialist will be able to recommend the best restaurants, make suggestions about fun tours and activities, suggest the best travel dates to avoid peak season charges.

** Hawaii destination specialist can assist you with planning your Destination Wedding, whether just for the two of you or making arrangements for a group.

So do yourself a favor, work with a professional travel agent, preferably a Hawaii Master Destination Specialist such as Linda Dancer, save yourself a lot of time and stress and ensure you will have the trip of a lifetime to Hawaii.

O’ahu Photo Tours Mar 20

The best thing about visiting the beautiful islands of Hawaii is the limitless amount of tours and activities that abound on each island.  Vacation means something different to everyone, and likewise there are tours and activities that appeal to different clients-one such unique tour opportunity on O’ahu  is the  O’ahu Photo Tours.  Professional guides help clients capture breathtaking images around the island and with their skill level they will make sure that the memories you make from photos taken will last a lifetime. Oahu Photography Tours is dedicated to making sure clients are in the right spot at the right time to capture the best possible images, whether you have a point and shoot camera, iPhone or the latest DSLP your guide will be experienced with them all and can show you how to take full advantage of your camera(also provide tripods for every tour if needed).

Tours go out 7 days a week from Waikiki, and with only 7 spots available on each tour space is limited so you may want to think about making these arrangements before you head to the islands. This would make a great addition to a honeymoon registry to capture moments from your first trip together as man and wife.
