Travel Agents Name HAWAII ‘Best Selling Destination’ Dec 11

HONOLULU — The readers of Recommend magazine named Hawaii the “Best Selling Destination” in North America in its 13th Annual Reader’s Choice Awards.

The fill-in survey asked participants to note their top choices in a number of categories, including airlines, rental car, rail, cruises, destinations, and hotels and resorts, and global distribution systems (GDS). Recommend’s Reader’s Choice Award winners were determined based on the highest number of votes received from more than 1,000 travel agents and professionals between August 15 and September 30. The complete list of honorees will be published in the travel trade magazine’s December issue.

“This positive recognition for Hawaii is a reflection of our complete travel industry’s hard work in this tough economy to ensure travel trade professionals have the tools to sell the islands effectively and deliver a quality vacation experience,” said John Monahan, president and CEO of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB). “With the marketplace becoming more and more competitive, the fact that agents have personally selected Hawaii as the preferred destination for their clients is a testament to the diversity, uniqueness, and spirit of Aloha found here.”
